Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Bonn High level Conference entitled Water Dialogues for Results

On 1 July 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin attended and addressed the High-level Conference on the 6th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 6), which was held within the framework of the Water Dialogues for Results initiated by the Federal Republic of Germany.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the main problems of the world’s population during the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of water and sanitation in it, accelerating the implementation of SDG 6, as well as the importance of the UN Conference on Water in 2023.

Sirojiddin Muhriddin also recalled the UN resolutions proposed by the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as their contribution to the implementation of the water goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda through the Dushanbe Water Process platform.

The meeting was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, in which representatives of the UN member states and international organizations exchanged views on the results of their common efforts and shared best practices in implementation of SDG 6 and the process of preparation for the UN Water Conference 2023.
