On March 17, 2020, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Qohir Rasulzoda has sent a message of congratulations to the Prime Minister of Malaysia His Excellency Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the occasion of his appointment as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

In respond, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, His Excellency Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin sent his letter of thanks to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Qohir Rasulzoda.

The letter reads, in particular:
“Your Excellency,

It is indeed my honour to have received your kind message on my appointment as Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Malaysia always considers the Republic of Tajikistan as an important partner in Central Asia. Our two countries continue to develop close and productive relations since 1992 when our ties were officially established. The bilateral collaboration has encompassed many areas, including capacity building programmes, education, people-to-people contacts, tourism and trade.

I look forward to working closely with you to further deepen and expand our relations.
Obviously there are many potentials to be developed as our two countries have many comparative advantages. I believe collaboration in clean energy, Islamic finance, and halal industry will contribute to elevating Malaysia-Tajikistan relations to a higher level.

I wish Your Excellency and the people of Tajikistan good health, peace and prosperity”.
